How to pay for purchases in the App Store and iCloud with a mobile phone bill?

In Russia, due to restrictions, the process of buying and paying for App Store and iCloud subscriptions has become much more complicated. So far, Russians still have the opportunity to pay for purchases in Apple ecosystems with Beeline, MegaFon, MTS and YOTA operators. In this guide, we’ll show you how to connect the App Store and iCloud to your mobile phone account on iPhone and Mac.

  1. In the “Settings” menu, go to the item “Apple ID account”, there select “Payment and delivery”
  2. Item “Add payment method”, where you need to select “Mobile phone”. If this payment method has already been added before, skip this step.
  3. Enter your phone number and verify it with a verification code from SMS.
  4. After confirmation, the mobile phone number should appear in the list of payment methods. Click the Edit button and drag it to the top of the list.
  5. Click Done. After that, the mobile phone will be selected as the main payment method for purchases.

  1. Launch the App Store app.
  2. In the lower left corner of the window, click on your account name and select the “Information” section.
  3. In this section, click on “Manage payment methods” -> “Payment method”. Add a new method using a mobile phone number.
  4. Enter your number and confirm the action via SMS.
  5. Drag the Mobile payment method to the very top of the list.

These payment binding methods may not work. Some users, when trying to change the payment, get an error: the system does not allow to set the mobile phone number. To solve this problem, you need to try again after a while – the servers may be overloaded now. In addition, the account must have a positive balance.
